“Diet” is the most important factor in healthy human life. Professional knowledge of proper diet is necessary to maintain a healthy mind and body. We nurture personnel who know “diet” well, and make contribution to people’s health through “diet.”
“Diet” is indispensable for human life. It has been scientifically proven that “what people casually choose and eat” affects their health and life expectancy. Therefore, proper knowledge of “diet” and solid techniques to communicate it has become in need in recent years. Today, the dietary habits of Japan, a country which has maintained its high ranking in terms of life expectancy, are gathering the world’s attention. Meanwhile, Japanese dietary habits are rapidly changing due to the diversification of people’s lifestyle: an increasing dependence on dining out and prepared food, a decrease in the frequency of home cooking. There is a pressing need to develop human resources who can give guidance regarding a proper diet to people who live in the modern society. We comprehensively search for ideal high-quality dietary habits for those who live in the 21st century. In our department, we aim to develop experts in “diet” who can help people improve their health and quality of life.
