We are surrounded by all kinds of food.  The simplified style of diet of the present day has also created a dietary environment in which we can easily fall into an unbalanced diet.  It can be said that an increase in lifestyle-related diseases such as obesity, diabetes and hardening of the arteries are the results of the age of gluttony.  Dietary education is crucial for correcting children’s unbalanced diets.  As we are moving towards an aging society, it is expected that people will increasingly become health-oriented.  In order to maintain the long life expectancy of the Japanese, it is crucial to provide appropriate dietary education that suits each stage of their lives during the period from their birth until old age, in order to allow them to develop appropriate dietary habits.  Thus, society’s needs for dietitians are becoming diversified every year.  Social expectations for certified dietitians are becoming increasingly intense as well.  It is our hope that our students build up their careers as advanced experts in the field of human health by incessantly honing their knowledge and skills.

By completing the Major in Nutrition Management, students can obtain the certificate to become a dietitian.  Furthermore, because this major has been appointed as a facility to train and develop registered dietitians, students can obtain the qualification for the national examination for registered dietitians upon graduation.  Once the certificate to become a registered dietitian has been acquired, work opportunities increase tremendously.  By studying at our college under its unique curriculums, students can expand their opportunities to work as any of the following dietitians: a welfare dietitian for welfare facilities, a clinical dietitian who serves in hospitals, a public dietitian who provides guidance to people in local communities, a school dietitian who provides dietary education to children, and a nutrition instructor.  We hope that our students will contribute to the building of the “Healthy 21st century Japan.”
